Cool and interesting. It's easy to like a silver coin with an elephant on it.:)

Apparently it is RIC 100, MVNIFICENTIA on the reverse. Not sure what it is celebrating, though.

Nice coin and a great type. It looks like your off to a good start.

Here's a description from an old auction describing what it commemorates.

Septimius Severus. Denarius; Septimius Severus; 193-211 AD, Rome, 197 AD, Denarius, 1.78g. BM-224, C-349 (3 Fr.), RIC-100. Obv: L SEPT SEV PERT - AVG IMP VIIII Head laureate r. Rx: MVNIFICENTIA AVG Elephant walking r., with crosshatching on its body and legs indicating its wrinkly skin. Commemorates the games also mentioned in the Historia Augusta that were given by Severus in mid 197 prior to his departure on his second Parthian expedition.

Nice square elephant, nice avatar, I have a blue tick beagle that looks just like yours. Looks like a Brahma bull on the other side. Nice coin Alejandron.

Thank you very much. Blue is Basset-Beagle (mother)-Australian Shepherd (father) (knew her parent dogs). She has the mindset of a basset (had several), face of the beagle and the coloring of the Australian Shepherd, down to her funky blue/white irises)

She REALLY smiles when she is happy, MUCH more than this pic!

The Baktria Apollodotos I 180-160 BCE Square AR Drachm Elephant-Zebu: I acquired this little gem from @Sallent earlier this year. He has a pretty good eye, and decided to pursue his focus in coin collecting. I have decided he will regret that decision, as I will not give this little beauty up! :D
