When you choose 'reflection' and the option box pops up, on the lower right side is a colors option. Choose black.......

Oh. Duh. I guess I need to pull up a couple of old photos and just start fiddling with the program. Thanks again green18, you have really helped a lot of folks around here.

    Best Regards,

    George

I see how you're changing the color of the reflection, but how do you change the color of the background around the coin?

Think I found it. Only way is to crop it and choose a background color?

Thank you so much for this. I've tried so many times using Gimp and never could figure it out.
I never was good with photo editing programs. I took a Graphic design course in high school and had the hardest time using photoshop

I didn't end up downloading the program Green mentioned in the original post because I already had Gimp.
I jsut spent about 30 minutes messing around in the program trying to create a nice image, and this is what I finally came up with...

Only thing I couldn't figure out is how to get my text to show up.

I use Gimp too. To get the text there is tool that looks like a A, with it you can change the size, color, and font. Once you are done you can move the text box around to where you want it.

There are 2 tools for text, I believe. One is a scriptfu plugin.

I foundhow to put a text box in and type what I want, I think the color was black though because nothing would show up against my black background. I couldn't figure out how to change the text color.
