I would also surmise the Polyfoil design on the Gran Tournois was implemented to guard against clipping.

Its not me....its the Samsung Galaxy S5...I just point it at the coin...click...perfect photo...ok...not perfect...very good...then I paint the background.

 

You paint the background? Eesh, that must be tedious...

 

It was but now I got a method down, I can do a coin in like 15 minutes start to finish, photo with phone, merge with MS Paint, Use Pixlr to paint the background, and an image resizer to make it whatever size I want!!

 

I don't generally collect coins past the LRBs of the Fourth and Fifth centuries, but this one is very nice. I have just the one I purchased on whim a couple of months ago:

Ha I was doing some Googling and it was saying that there is a link between the Arrest Day of the Templars Friday, 13th of October 1307 is the origin for the Friday 13th tradition.

 

I love that coin...and at any point you feel it doesn't fit into your collection you let me know....you hear....
