Purchased from a fellow collector on here. I loved the castle on it & the condition compared to the norm of these types. Philip II of Spain (1556 - 1582 A.D.) Æ Blanca (1/2 maravedi) O: Castle (symbol of Castile); in left field, patriarchal cross; in right field C (Cuenca mint mark). R: Crowned monogram of king (PHIL sharing elements, VS entwined); in left field, patriarchal cross; in right field, chalice with two small crosses. Cuenca mint, 1556-1576. 14mm 1.1g.
HEY....i was going to buy that, you beat me to it. don't you feel horrible? but yeah, that's a very nice one compared to most. i have several overstamped coins of the era, but not a nice clean one.
