Does anybody know of a decent source for the mintage numbers of these? Every place I look they just refer to market demand and no specific or even rounded numbers.
Umm, checking out the place that makes these pieces would have helped a lot ... http://www.muenze-oesterreich.at/phil_praegungen?l=en Christian
Here are the numbers I found: 1oz. Austrian Philharmonic Silver Bullion Coins - Mintage Figures: Year 2008....7.800.000 2009....9.000.000 2010....11.300.000
Not that huge compared to the ASE, but yeah the coin mintages are all growing; kookaburras, pandas, Brits. As I frequently point out, mining supply does not meet total silver demand. It is only due to "old silver scrap" that demand is met. At this rate that old scrap may eventually be called "excessively minted coins".
Good that you already got them from Treehugger. Note that my reply which you quoted was posted two years ago. The Austrian Mint revamped its website a while ago, and instead of "austrian-mint.at" and "muenze-oesterreich.at" they now use "muenzeoesterreich.at" (no dash). Unfortunately the new site does not provide the same info as the old one ... or they hide it well. The Schön catalog and this German Wikipedia article however have basically the same figures.
