    First, there are the newspapers.

    Then, there are the magazines.

    Then, there are club journals.

    -------------------------------
The newspaper publisher are Krause (Numismatic News, World Coin News, Bank Note Reporter) and Amos (Coin World).

Coin World has the largest circulation, over 90,000 and close to 100,000. The Krause papers do not publish their figures but tend be about one-half to one-third of this or less. (Banknote Reporter has a very small circulation because so few people collect paper, compared to the number of people in America collecting American coins.)

The newspapers might be found on a newsstand -- and if so, consider yourself lucky -- and often at coin stores -- but are usually by subscription.

Coin World tends to be written by a professional staff of journalists. They perform regular research for their feature articles (The Amazing 1817 Half Cent... Birds of a Feather: Eagles on Coins... ) Coin World writes about coins first (including paper money, of course) and then Clubs, and then people last.

Numismatic News gets more collector articles. Their staff writes more about People and less about material, generally.

    -----------------

Krause publishes Coins Magazine. There are also CoinAge and Coin Prices. These appear on the newstands. And are available by subscription, but are seldom sold at coin stores.

    ---------------

If you have a special interest, such as Buffalo Nickels or Bust Half Dollars, there is a club for you. Clubs are the primary source of insider information for knowing more as a collector than the general dealers do. If you join a club, start buying all those back issues.

The Seated Liberty Collectors have assembled several books of "best of" articles from their magazine.

Regional clubs such as Michigan State, Central States, etc., also publish quarterlies of a more general and less detailed nature, though sometimes they have really great articles. The Georgia Numismatic Association wins awards for their newsletter and I proud to be a writer for them.

Coin Resources seems pretty rich in content.
