I looked at the bid history, and it was another buyer with 100% feedback bidding the photo up. I can't even imagine why, unless bidders get so caught up in the desire to win they lose touch with reality. It bothers me because it almost smacks of shill bidding, which it definitely was not. I have no idea who the bidders were. I think some people just enter crazy maximums with the idea that nobody else would chance bidding so high on a ten dollar item. Getting back to the OP, yes, some people on eBay are both dumb and nuts!
Well, the thought never crossed my mind. I have hundreds of old photos I took that I sell on eBay.. and most go for $10 to $75 each. I hope he does make out OK; I'm still feeling guilty.
i buy a lot of photos off ebay myself and if an image is the right fit, you can get a spike in price. Nothing to feel guilty about. Believe me ..if someone bids high, they know what they are doing. You should feel proud and honored that your work can command those prices and enjoy the friuts of your labor.
Can you share the link to this sale? I'm very curious on the photo that fetched this sum. By the way, I never thought that you were bidding up the price of the photo.
