Well, CU is the abbreviation for copper. Maybe the "R" stands for "R CRAP!"

The copper is worth more than a cent so I keep all my copper. Maybe one day it will be worth saving

I got skunked on a penny box that was full of searched rolls. He missed 6 coppers, but when I usually get more than that per roll, it wasn't much. Sometimes I get rolls like this. Each copper penny currently has about 3 cents' worth of copper. Eventually, they'll have to let people melt them down just like they let people melt down silver coins for the bullion. I guess it's all about how long we can hang on to them... or whether we can sell them to someone else before they're meltable.
