Congratulations. I have $105 face in bronze cents under my bed left from my roll-searching days and never found an important variety. What's the condition of your find?

I'll put pictures on Tuesday my camera at home sucks and I'm no way confident enough to even suggest a grade on a coin

Most I've seen have been ms-62 or 63.

Looks like you nailed it, it's a wide AM. Still looking for a 99' here close to Denver.. May be looking for a while.

Nice find! I found one a few weeks ago myself. On another note, it's not an error, it's a variety.

sorry for being a dunce (i'm new here and to the world of collecting) but what's so significant about this 1999 penny? "wide a m"?

I've gone through 30-40 ($25 boxes) over the last couple years and of the three 1998,1999,2000 wide A M's.
    I have found 7 2000's & 2 1998's & ZERO 1999's it is the toughest one of the three.

It's a business strike coin with a proof design reverse.

There are some clad quarters with proof type (h) reverses from Denver from 69-72. There is not too much written about them though.

Are there other dates(other than 1998, 1999, 2999) in which the wide A M is a "rare" variety? Are there dates that have a narrow AM, which are also considered a rare variety?

1992 has a close am that is a rarity
