Penny question

    Hello....very new so bear with me. I’m thinking it’s nothing but....does the 6 look off on this 1986 penny?

    Yes, The 6 does look off.. It has a shadow on the right side that is caused by die wear, it is referred to as Die Deterioration Doubling. It is quite normal and a common thing to see. It does not add any value to the coin.

    All of those parallel striations pointing toward the rim are indicative of die deterioration. ~ Chris
