Penny 1969D Silver, something other than copper

    I found a way to determine if the 1969 D is an actual silver minted cent or a fake would anyone interested in a way to be positive of what they have and my method is fool proof

    So is ours, and we won't make you wait to learn what it is:

    Write the words "plated copper cent" in black ink on the whitest paper you can find.

    Carefully stand the cent on its edge, right beside the words you've written.

    Look carefully at the paper near the coin.

    If it says "plated copper cent", you have a plated copper cent.
