Cindy, it stands to reason, with a collector that serious, there may be some valuable coins there. I know you're in a hurry, and I don't want to slow you down, but neither do I think you want to overlook the fact that a lot of dedication and thought went into this collection, and I'd hate to see you get short-changed for it. If you could look at these dates, check them against your Red Book, and see if you can identify some of those more valuable ones, we might be of help to you on those, on at least some ballpark values. If you could get us pictures of those, that would be the best. BU, by the way, means the coin is brilliant, uncirculated, and UNC just means uncirculated. OMG, that means...well, you know what that means, lol. Look, good luck.
You have no idea how passionate he was with all his coins. It makes me so sad to sell the pennies when are last discussion was, we are not taking them, and Garry saying will see about that, with a smile... I don't have to sell them now but if the house sells, I don't want to be sorry I didn't . I have read and look at more pennies than I every want to, taking pictures that would be crazy on my end. I bet they are worth a bit, but I have 145 boxes of 25.oo of pennies, do you know how heavy they are, I not a spring chicken here. All of you taught me so much, but if I mess up I can't help it. With that said what does OMB and LPL mean?
OMB and LPL are terms I never heard of. I can guess that OMB is original mint box and PL is proof like. Some folks make up their own codes and that may be what this is. My dealer friend Brad does the Naugatuck show but he may still be in New Hampshire. Anyway it's Brad's Coins and he will be in E. Hartford Feb. 23rd. I think he does the New Haven show too. I live in Northeast Connecticut. I'll be at the Willimantic show March 23rd and the Norwich show May 4th.
Always good to throw that in there. Before driving to anyone's state and getting too excited about this thread, I'd want to see a couple of photos as well.
I would have to unwrap them.. My fingers are cut.. I am getting to the point I may not sell them because I have no clue!! I have also: 1981 D UNC 1982D UNC 1973 BU OMG 2008 UNC 2004 UNC Thease are boxes that where never opened...
No need, I mean a photo of what you have, as is, boxed, rolled and wrapped. That might be just the incentive needed for someone to drive right over.
I have no idea how to send you pics, I have an I phone that I could take pics but don't know how to get them on this page. Sorry. Ughhhhh ...
I found a inventory list my husband had in one of the boxes. So I am going to regroup and try to match all this up,because it's confusing. If you like the list I can scan it to you if I could get your emails. Than you can see if all these pennies are worth seeing. Cindy
You said earlier you would scan and email it, so scan using your printer and create a document on your PC. There is an "Upload a File" button every time you respond here. You can upload it to this thread for all to see.
