I dont mind, like it was said ealier, we all know a penny is one cent and a nickel is 5 cents, etc...Most people know a Quid is a Pound. There are MANY things that have multiple names in english, I would say because of the nature of america and how they borrow and invent from other nations and cultures and how certain terms used in one or two nations both become a standard. Like when I went to England to work and I asked for a wrench and saw a bunch of blank stares, after a bit of discussion we realize what I needed was a 'spanner'

I think all people as they grow learn the different names of our money, there arent many denominations and there are many ways to say dollar

Now if you were griping about ROADS with 3 names or more then I would have said hell yeah! In Houston there are highways and roads that have 2 names or more which end up confusing people. So you might have I-## as the number name, then they give the road a name like so-and-so freeway (usually named after a person or something they want to honor) and THEN there are those roads that are labeled with a # - then they name different PARTS of the road different memorial names...you never turned off but all of a sudden the road name just changed and has the same road ##

But I diverge...
