I'm sure of it now. There are two types of collectors.

Those that think there are two types of collectors.....
    and those that don't.

I started out cherrypickin, still like to be able to fondle my RAW coins and only discovered slabbing this year. But to stay on thread, I have now found that to get some coins I want, I must prefer the NGC. And avoid SGS!!! Just proof that some folks are in it FOR the money: other for the MONEY.

These guys worked as graders for NGC for years....now they run the U.S. Mint.....they hired Pitney-Bowes......:eating:

Now I know what happened to my old coin collection! I didn't even know my brothers were into coins until now. BTW Where did you find my family photo album?

I prefer NGC for the most part. That said, I haven't handled one of the new "prong" type NGC holders but from what I have seen in pictures I don't care for those.

Oh you'll change your mind... :D
They are great, and neat looking too...
Although I have to admit, they would make a gold indian look kinda weird!
Almost all the other coins look pretty good in those new holders... My 1896 MS63 morgan is one, and it looks fantabulous...

What I don't like is how the prong seems to come over onto the obverse and reverse of the coin. If it was confined solely to the rim it would be fine, but it's not.

Could be a little better, but then it would not have a strong enough hold on the coin... If they went back to the old holders, I wouldn't have a problem with it.. :)
