I just finished putting togethor a 25 coin submission to NGC. As some of you know from this forum, PCGS hates me and my terrible coins. Part of my submission to NGC includes the crossover service. I am hoping for some redemption. If some do not grade higher, I am hoping they will get a star designation. I am also cracking out some PCGS details coins just to see what NGC has to say about them. I am curious; Who has used this service and how did it turn out?
Good luck Greg , I don't submit many coins but from what I've seen , NGC is a little easier on toners . Hope they all grade higher .
Look at it this way, Greg. If you're not happy with the results at NGC, you at least have the opportunity to gripe about their service on the forums without fear of getting bammed. Chris
I'll just move down the ladder. Anacs, ICG, and finally into some basement slab where everything is MS70.
For the right fee, I'll slab them all at 71. No? How about 70 with a pretty VKB sticker? How about 70, the sticker, a plus and a star?
Rather have a bottle in front of me than a frontal lobotomy. Greg, let us know how this goes. I have a bunch of PCGS slabs I'd like to cross to NGC, simply because I dislike PCGS' corporate attitude so much.
I haven't submitted many to NGC, but my experience has been that NGC is typically softer on rare-date gold than PCGS.
I don't see anything questionable about that quarter. The shield nickel could have gone either way IMO.
Love that SLQ , that coin was hammered . I love a really FH coin . I can't wait to see what NGC says about the color as I like it . And what am I missing on the Kennedy , sure looks fine to me . Unless there's tiny hairlines that can be seen with a 5X loupe at an angle , and I doubt that .
Nice coins. Love the quarter. I used to have lots of fun crossing coins and trying again when one service didn't like the coin. I don't do it enough anymore to say how PCGS and NGC look at QC. Many of the post I see on forums go back and forth as far as who is being tough at the time. Hope you get great results.
