I get a mailer from PCGS in which they always have a question/poll for a prize. Now, naively thinking people reading on PCGS would be seasoned coin collectors, I was interested to see how the experts on CT would respond. My answer is "uncirculated" since we have gone round and round on here as to what constitutes an "uncirculated" coin, and AFAIK the answer was "If it shows no signs of wear, it is uncirculated" because we don't know the coin's history! Proof - proof coins are specifically made, business strike coins are made as business strikes, specimen...of this one I had doubts, but since there could be only one winner, I chose "uncirculated". Here are the results from the PCGS mailer...
So are we saying that the answer to the poll question is a popularity contest? What is the correct answer from the point of view of the 'experts' at PCGS, not the results of a poll that quite frankly everyone could get wrong?
Thats a good grip. That can't during this uprise, stop Us from shaking hands.. I guessed proof first. If you think about it they are all of the above. But uncirculated cannot be garaunteed.
According to this article, Uncirculated is the answer. (But they could be wrong, lol). https://www.thesprucecrafts.com/strike-type-definition-768693#:~:text=There are three basic strike,at the United States Mint. And no more hand shaking until this Covid-19 pandemic is officially declared over
Yeah, the only reason I posted this is because it was from PCGS and we all know that they NEVER do anything wrong just interesting to see the results from both "them" and "us"
