Listed both on Ali and the Bay, the 1st is my Ali example. Seller noted counterfeit and Ali authorized a return:

Different example offered on the Bay and my note to that seller:

    PCGS on-line cert:

And PCGS response to my inquiry:

    Good for PCGS; Jack.

Jack - Is the raw coin counterfeit? That dollar looks way better than Taiwans typical offerings and that’s scary.

@Randy Abercrombie the example shown as received is a current CN fake. Appears cast in hand.

@Jack D. Young The Chinese site also has a set of three, different certs than the above.
    Fake_Morgans.jpg

    37819075 verifies as MS66+, scans as 80501712
    37598446 verifies as MS66+, scans as 80501712
    24974887 verifies as MS67, scans as 80501712

80501712 is a 1989 $10 gold eagle MS68. Same barcode as yours apparently, Jack.
The same coin image is in all three (identical spots near M, etc).

@KBBPLL I wonder which one you would get:D? I am waiting on my 4th refund of their junk or I would make this my 5th...

All 3 certs also have images and are shown in PCGS Registry sets...

    Good for you Jack.
But they are just proving my point that it's not worth it any more to do business
this way. Bring back the B and Ms.

They give refunds? Do you have to ship it back?

These are the highest priced fakes I've seen on there. I've seen some in the $80 range that purported to be real silver, but that's the most expensive I recall. I don't go there much. Clearly targeted at US scammers to dupe others and make a few bucks more. Four-figure coins if they were real.

If you could order fakes made of actual silver, then get refunds without returns because they're fakes -- that would be an economic model that might actually start making a dent in the problem.

But I'm guessing they're generally listed as "reproductions" or "tributes", with unfortunate quality-control issues that mean they often escape without the legally-required COPY stamp, but nothing that would let you get a refund.

Wonder if the actual-silver fakes are widely listed on eBay? In my experience, they do at least sometimes issue refunds without requiring returns for fakes. But if it started to become a movement, I imagine they'd alter that policy.

I have requested refunds through my financial institution stating they are counterfeit and marketed as genuine; violation of US Law and infringement of the TPG's intellectual property. I am 3 for 3 so far and have not returned any to date.

Ask them why is it so cheap then? and see what entertaining story they come up with. Funny, suddenly I have to register in order to see listings there.

The only real way these crooks would stop if you force them to pay. Good example is all these Chinese platform is where there is fierce competition and sellers have to eat all returns and loss.

Same logic should apply. I bet if you have a small team of people that are paid to hunt for these counterfeits, it will be easy fix.

Tons of them also have "COPY" on the images but it's identical on all of them so it's clearly a watermark added to the images, and the coin you get is not legal to sell to the US.
