That slab is hideous. But I think most "Special" slabs are hideous. Certain series, like Kennedy 50th anniversary coins are way more work to find in "normal" slabs without special labels / images on the holder. To each their own, I imagine just like the special Kennedy holders, many people would love that weird bee holder.
Now we just need to get someone to submit the ONLY "Maine" HT/ Civil war token (that I am aware of) in the PCGS Bee Frame holder, which happens to be "bee" related:
NGC will probably put it in an 8.8 graded holder for you. Another grading abomination aimed at enticing comic book hobbyists to bid on it because it's graded like a comic book using a 1-10 scale.
It all began with "first strike" then "+" grading, then details grading, --it was a lot better when they sent coins back in a body bag if it wasn't original. And of course some neophyte collectors who couldn't identify a cleaned coin if it came right out of their own dishwasher, insisted they were being defrauded because they were only interested in authenticity not a grade. Coins with labels at the bottom of the holder are the worst. Can't read them in a PCGS box without pulling the entire slab out of the box for inspection. I suspect a lot of the premium for OGH and NGC fat holders stems from the simplicity of grading back then.
I think I'll re-submit my entire collection so the coins can be attributed to the "Hoard You've Now Heard Of".....lol
