Some prefer neon toning and some prefer pastel toning. Sometimes a coin can depict both of these under different lighting conditions. Lets see some of these coins if you have them. Here is a coin from my collection that depicts not only both but also those deep black mirrors we often see on modern proofs.
This isn't mine, but it has both. It also shows the most orderly progression of toning on an actual coin from untoned to later stage plum toning (stages A through T on the Sunnywood scale) that I could find when looking through my photos for a toned Morgan.
That is a great example of the entire spectrum. It also shows elevation chromatics very well. Thanks for sharing this one @messydesk!
u this proof Franklin is one of the strangest toning on it....i wish i could image the bans of color going across Ben. But there is a strip or ban of leopard like spots....I've never seen a coin tone as such.
