Very controversial subject around these parts, "what to keep". If you like it, and can afford to stash it, keep it. It's not what I would do....but you're not me.

Great catch on that low serial! Too bad about the condition, but it's still an awesome find! :)

Finally got my newest order from Heritage yesterday. Great notes included a 1988A web note graded 64EPQ with 4/4 printing plates and an 1864 $5 confederate that is definitely in XF condition.

Thanks krispy. I have slowly been acquiring a decent set of Confederate notes. As for the web press, it's one of the harder blocks to get, especially in such great condition.

Here's a rare note I just picked up, Madagascar P40 issued in 1937. It is on paper almost as thin as tissue-paper, and I've never seen a better copy actually. Most are quite dirty, folded, pressed, etc. This one has a fold down the middle, but that's it.

I just won these on Heritage last night!
I thought this would look good with my fractional collection!

    Fr. 1236SP 3rd Issue 5 Cent Back Specimen PCGS 64PPQ.jpg Fr. 1236SP 3rd Issue 5 Cent Back Specimen PCGS 64PPQ (2).jpg

I just thought these were a good deal and will probably sell them....

    Fr. 1969-E $5, Fr.1970-E $5 and Fr. 1972-E $5 PCGS Front.jpg Fr. 1969-E $5, Fr.1970-E $5 and Fr. 1972-E $5 PCGS Back.jpg

I am a sucker for $3 notes and low serial number Obsoletes. These two will stay in the collection and the one they are replacing will move into "inventory".

Really like the specimen fractional. Glad you won it and was able to post a pic on here so that we could see it.

Thank you! That is my first fractional specimen, too bad I won't get to see it in hand for another 7 months!!! :(

Nice notes guys. It's funny - because besides the crazy serial numbers so many of the notes you guys post just look like regular bills to me. If i was given them in change - i would spend them without a 2nd thought....makes me wonder

I really do HATE the amount of time it takes Heritage to send stuff out. It's my main complaint with them. I pay them almost immediately and I don't ever see a tracking number show up for at least 2 1/2 weeks.

LOL, Heritage does take a long time but I was referring to the fact that I am in Afghanistan and I won't be home until early November. I guess I should have clarified that statement.

Missed that on your profile. Still, Heritage does take a while. Anyway, stay safe out there and thanks for your service! :thumb:

Going today to pick up some more stuff from the guy I've been dealing with; I think this is the last of it. Besides the coins he has, this is what he has for notes. I looked up some of them on ebay to get a feel for worth and learned some lingo - 1928 $1 funnyback, $10 Bank of Providence, $20 bank of Boston, (2) 1928 $2 red seals, $5 1953C red seal, $5 1928F red seal. As you've seen before with the phots I've posted - conditions varies. I know the $10 providence note has 2 tears and the $20 boston has some creases but it doesn't look like they have much value anyway.

I'll post some photos when I get them later

Here's a recent aquisition. This is 1,000 Ruble from the KHWAREZM SOVIET PEOPLES REPUBLIC, 1338 AH/1920 AD. Printed on light blue silk fabric, these were among the earliest Soviet issued notes for the region.
