Just arrived today: Ignoring the obvious "1951" doesn't the style of this note feel a lot older? For point of comparison: Does it really seem like these came out almost 90 years apart?
Oh wasn't saying it like it was a bad thing lol, in fact that's why I got this note. Has a really old-fashioned style I liked. When I first saw this note, before I noticed the date I had guessed it to be about a century older than it actually was. I suppose I should have mentioned that somewhere, but this is a 5 kronor note from Sweden, released in 1951 (picked that year in particular as it's the year my parents were born).
Just arrived today: Wanted something to fill my $5 bill collection between 1934 and 1963 lol. Still love the look of these.
New arrivals: Canada, 1 dollar, 1967 Celebrating the 100th anniversary of Canadian Federation. Just a real "classic money" look to this I like. Greece, 100 drachmai, 1978 Nothing much to say about this other than I like the look of it. Makes me miss the distinctiveness a lot of European countries had in their currency before switching to the Euro. Guatemala, 1 quetzal, 2024 Celebrates the 100th anniversary of when Guatemala switched its currency unit from the peso to the quetzal. Guatemala has a lot of national pride in this currency, and the bird it's named after, and rightfully so.
We should all look so good at 100 years old in the case of the $5 and $1 notes. I am one year older than the $2.
