Agree, he Petro Annigoni's portrait is outstanding. A slightly more mature QE11 on this Canada 2 dollar.
Her Majesty is a pretty nice girl But she doesn't have a lot to say Her Majesty is a pretty nice girl But she changes from day to day I wanna tell her that I love her a lot But I gotta get a belly full of wine Her Majesty is a pretty nice girl Someday I'm gonna make her mine, oh yeah.....
Someone here got one of these a while back and the interesting date made me want one. Finally pulled the trigger.
My son worked in China about 15 years ago and has had these notes in storage. Unfortunately a bit damaged by being folded for years, but I'll see what I can do when they arrive. Cheap enough to gently iron out the creases perhaps. I already have the lower values 1-5 and the HK20 in better condition. Always good for swaps.
- I wouldn't. The heat will dull their colour & effectively make them tough to get rid of (even swap). They flatten but you can see that they've been flattened b/c the evidence of circulation is still there. They're more desirable "as is."
@Notaphylic_C Will they flatten if left in a book, or any other way without spoiling them? Or just put them immediately into pockets
Very appealing designs. Interesting to see they are still using paper in 2019. Are you looking to complete the set with 50 and 500 shillings?
Sure. I have a good friend who lives near Mombasa, and I will ask him to bring those notes for me next trip. Thanks for the heads up. I am mainly a coin collector and only dabble in banknotes now and then.
This series is what got me into world note collecting. I have them all in UNC and would like to eventually get a circulated set too.
