I created an invoice with PCG to get graded. We'll see what it grades in a week or two.

My 1st National Bank Note: Just won this recently....have to do some research on the history of these bills, not familiar with their origin or what alot of the wording means on the face.

I know it says National Currency at the top of the note but collectors consider this a FRBN, not a National. Nice note !

I know it's rough, but I have a thing for notes from places I've lived.

Thanks Steve...any primer posts here on FRBNs that you are aware of ?

Most of what I know about FRBNs has come from reading Paper Money magazine. Available to all members of the Society of Paper Money Collectors (SPMC), which I highly recommend. https://www.spmc.org/

Barr ran for 28 days the second shortest term since 1893. William Rosecrans & Daniel Morgan ran together for 18 days.

It was part of a belated Christmas gift from my grandparents along with the Canadian shinplaster. They were unable to come for Christmas since they both tested positive for COVID-19 on December 19th. My grandfather has a thing for buying random things on eBay, especially cheap graded paper money. With that being said, I’ve received quite a few modern graded FRN’s from him over the years.

I had been in Thailand for two months and got back Dec. 20. When I am home in the states I buy blocks of new $1 and $2 bills and sell them on eBay. I love $2 bills and enjoy selling them and at times find packs or singles of star notes. I ordered a new block before I came home so they would be waiting for me when I got back. Unfortunately, at times the distribution center for my bank branches sends used bills instead of new. When the bank called, they told me they got used so I went and got them to go through them. I always take them and go through them to see what is in there. In one pack of used bills I pulled out the 8428 2009 star note showing very little wear and crisp. Then in another pack I found the two consecutive 8443 and 8444 notes that show almost no wear except for a little bend in the upper right corner and very crisp. Have thought about having them graded as they show very rare at the star note lookup site showing 128,000 made. img874.jpg img875.jpg img774.jpg img776.jpg img775.jpg img777.jpg
