We know the dates for FUN 2021 and 2022....if you can book super-early and/or do other things in the are (people to visit, etc.) to kill 2 or 3 birds with 1 stone....it could work out for you.

Happy to say though that I settled on my eBay purchase with my eBay bucks! Now the waiting game begins.

 

Fun is a great show, but another big one is the Long Beach coin expo

Well i,am very excited !! havent been really active on the particular series
In a long time, for many reasons the fractional 5,10,25 almost never
Come up ! oddly you see allot of the 50 cent notes which has a lower
Population, this would be the series 651 which resembles the series 641
Except for one added feature and i will get to that in a minute.

Here are some stats on the series 651:

Issued: 4/12/69
withdrawn: Japan 5/19/69 Libya 6/11/69 Korea 11/19/73

Note: the fractional,s were only issued in Japan and Libya but not
in Korea so as you can see by the above table they had a
Very short shelf life of only a few months or less.



believe it or not this is the rarest by (delivered population) in the
Whole entire history of Military Payment Certificates with only
1,600,000 million produced only replacements have a lesser
Population, this particular not not only rare but is the only 68
Of its kind, Series 651 $5 in PCGS 68PPQ, you will find them
from time to time on the bay in lesser quality, but not one
like this as its a one of a kind

 

as a comparison here,s the Series 641 $5 also in the highest grade
of 67 can you tell the difference, i wont spoil the surprise though it
Is very obvious.

 

almost forgot to mention, that on the fractionals the colors are different
and more vibrant on the Series 651 then the 641, i will post some
additional examples when i come across them.

Series 641 Series 651

5 Cent/ Purple Blue

10 Cent/ Green Red

25 Cent/ Pink Green

50 Cent / Pink Tan

One dollar is also different for the Series 641 Pink for the Series
651 Green $5 and $10 same basic design and color.

Are you talking about how they inverted the colors from the 651/641?

 

I don't know them personally but I've bought a good deal of notes from them with their pedigree on the labels.

The lower the numerical grade the less likely it is you will find PPQ/EPQ but at 45 it is not uncommon. I've seen as low as 12 get PPQ. I own a couple 15's with PPQ.

 

MPC, love your posts but is there any way you can have the sentences stop truncating (breaking off) ? Not sure if it's your PC or smartphone or what.

Sometimes makes it tough to read your posts.

 

Though there are some minor differences, such as a slight color variation
And green scallops versus red ones on the Series 641, the main one
is the minuteman on the Series 651 far left between the two 5,s.

 

I do post from my smart phone often, so unfortunately i do have sentence
run over,s and the darn thing CAPS every time i start a new sub sentence
where one isnt required, so have to fix everything manually, sometimes
Just to lazy...LOL
