But your $500 and $1,000 bills were PMG 65 or higher, right ? BTW, I agree with the rationale for both pristine and worn notes. If I could afford both, I would definitely do it.
Well lets face it, if we were all millionaire,s we could afford any note However for most of us we have to pick and choose, i do have some Very valuable one of a kind MPC but had to pay thru the nose to get Them, i like the A/U grades because you get a great not at a good price And allot of 55,s and 58,s are just as good as some 64,s with out the High price point.
1935-D Silver Certificate: A stink bid got me this. I didn't think it was gonna win but it did. Was just looking to bid on PMG or PCGS 58 stuff. You can clearly see that this 58 paper is a bit worn compared to others. Sometiems paper in the 45-58 range looks mint state or 60'ish quality.
2017 $1 Radar: Play the theme song from M*A*S*H...I got a radar !! Another stink bid winner. Don't know about you, but believe it or not, sometimes instead of tracking an auction with WatchList I will bid if the starting price is super-low like $0.01 or $3 or something like that. So I track it in my bidding activity. With bills, I figure the graded status and holder are worth at least $10 so if I can get any of these for $15 or so that's dirt-cheap. And every now and then, the stink bids win (or I bid a bit too high). And so here I am !!

Really unique in the fact that this is in a, not only high grade but a first generation Holder to boot
MPC, since most of us know very little about MPCs....tell us a bit about the notes in the future, if you will. Time...war (if any) or geographical area....dates of service.
This had me a little worried for a second. It was shipped out on the 11th via priority mail and only arrived today. Usually things get here within 3-4 days with priority mail. I was getting a little worried that perhaps it got lost! But alas, here is my 1914 $50 FRN.
What a beauty. Now I need a lesson. Why does it say Panama? Is it to commemorate the Panama canal in some sort of way?
Of course The Series 691 is kind of unique, in the fact that it was never issued and was Actually stored for future use, this was the same for the Series 701 also for The 691 no fractional,s were ever issued 5,10,25 or 50 cent notes originally Intended for Korea and printings were very low all $1,$5,$10 actually had Two printings but most of the first printings were destroyed by the financial Branch of the military, these notes are beyond rare and seldom come up but I have been lucky in the fact that i have found most of the highest grades for My collection and this one was the icing on the cake, i would say the $20 In lower graded 66 and below are out there on a limited scale but 68,s are Note, next i would say the $1 in lower grades plus the fact that more were Printed, the $5 and $10,s are really impossible, but did manage a 67 and Then a 68, also have the $10 but so far have only managed a 65 here are Some pics of those.
Thanks! I’m not sure either what the Panama reference is referring to. I’m a bit different in that I don’t collect particular bill types. It’s just what moves me and what I find attractive with their back prints. Thanks!
The interplay between the newly created Federal Reserve....the Treasury....and the demands of the modified Gold Standard....are fascinating, particularly from 1914-1951.
Picked up this Civil War era Note. National Banknote Co. North Western Bank, which is still in business. I find this time period interesting.
