Freaking awesome....auction or LCS or did you just BUY it for a set price online ? I didn't know you were even seriously considering a $500 bill, this is a step up.
These pics are pretty good...remember, if you buy off Ebay or HA or other online places.... save the pics they use since they're top-notch and saves you time.
It was an eBay purchase and the seller was kind enough to accept my best offer. The $500 note and now this $1000 note look good displayed next to each other lol! Unfortunately the eBay pics weren’t exactly the greatest either. I’m going to take better photos of my notes over the weekend.
1928A $5 USN Legal Tender Note: Love the verbiage on the left side of the note...."except duties on imports and interest on the public debt." Yeah, for that we want GOLD !! I have to look up the reasons why they included those specific exceptions. The changing words over the decades were mostly cosmetic, but that specific seal and the 2 exclusions are very specific and unique. Oh yeah, the bills......won them on HA...I like the PMG58 rating when I can't afford/buy a 65 note because usually borders and paper quality is better than stuff in the low-60's (I still can't understand this dischotomy). I'm wary of white-looking bills if they have been Photoshopped to look that way but no, this bill is pretty white. Very happy with it.
Nice LT @GoldFinger1969. What is that just below the word Five on the back lower left corner? Looks like rust, or maybe it’s something is on the holder.
Below the "E" ? I think it's a discoloration mark, can't tell if it's on/inside the mylar or on the bill. Hey, it's a 58.....I had no illusions it was really a 65 that got misgraded !! If I have to have something like that (marks or discolaration) I'll take it on the back side all the way in a corner, right ? Truthfully, I didn't even notice it until you mentioned it ( ) but seriously....I spend most of my time looking at the fronts. Hey...again....it's a 58, so you take it with the minor imperfections, right ? Once I win Mega-Millions, I'm cutting open all the notes below 65 and spending them, replacing them with PMG 65's or higher.
Just recently ventured into the currency realm. I've always liked the design of these two, so naturally I figured they should represent my first soiree...
It's surprisingly how good condition these are, especially if they're actually printed in 1792 like it says on the note. I got one for like $7, it's not perfect but for $7 I'm not going to complain
Went to the local swap meet this morning and picked up some notes. I was able to get the 1928B $10 FRN for $18 and the single $1 star notes for $1.25 since I bought all three from the seller.
