Short story behind this one. U.S. Army Champlain passed away and his daughter was throwing things out. He was in WWII and Viet Nam. I was given this "gem" Not worth much but being retired Military myself I was honored to have it. Viet Nam era and the art work is "popping"
Maybe from the coin hunt? Mom- in-law scored 11 silver certicates from the local dollar store last week - including these 3
Face value SC star pickups? Take those all day long in any condition... Today's new pickup is this nice looking I'M BATMAN $10 note from The Gotham National Bank in New York. Nice overall example, you can see the soft top edge where they didn't use scissors, looks like the wet straight edge tear to me... Where or where is my matching Metropolis note for Superman? eBay reported 57 matches today for my saved search for Metropolis, none of which have anything to do with those letters stringed together in that order. Why eBay do you have the worst search EVER?
Every note has a great story and that one is no exception I collect and invest in Military payment certificates here,s one Of mine, just like yours, one of the reasons i got in to military Payment was the vivid color and art work, just amazing. Here,s some other examples from the Vietnam era some of these just recently acquired so as not to hijack the thread.
Being from the Vietnam era your probably know these as well from The Series 681 August 11, 1969 thru October 7, 1970
Yep... have one on the same scale. May not be worth much but "we" have one where others do not... hahaha
Yeah they sure are pretty that,s really what got me started in MPC Was the art work and fantastic colors, for all out beauty and design I think my favorites would be the Series 611 $10 pictured above and this one from Series 661 $20 and many right behind that
I work at a local high school, today one of the coaches said he had something for me. following him to his truck, he handed me this. He said someone paid him for a drink with this while he was bartending. I offered but he wouldn't take anything for it. It's actually more of a brown color and one that I didn't have.
You can't beat FREE, but that bill is terrible condition, but a keeper. I have a number of them in worse shape. LOL
Well, today's new pickup is this tough 1885 one drachma note from the Kingdom of Greece. Yes, that's how it was then, before notes were issued later under the Bank of Greece. You know your helmet is badass when the Pegasus on your crested helmet also has a crest...
