Yup, I'm afraid I'll spend $20 or more to PMG or Legacy to have them graded and they'll be worth $15-$20 assuming they grade 65-67.

Wingnut, I picked up that 1957B SC I posted above a few weeks back mostly because I wanted a reference (it was Graded 68 SGU and also RQN) for my own 1935's and 1957's.

What I liked most about mine, is the border cut is almost perfect, at least better than most.

You mean the white borders up/down and left/right are all equal or close to it in terms of width?

Yep usually there's one that's off. This one seems very much centered. Like the look

Today. I think this is a XF trying to be a VF. ... I paid VF $$ for it anyway.
(I could be wrong either way.)

Steve and Wingnut....If the note was otherwise perfect, how much would REALLY HORRIBLE margins (say, one margin almost flush with the top or bottom or side) take off from a perfect 70 or 69 ?

    1 or 2 or 3 grades ?

In my 66 above, guys, the margins are off but not horrible (at least to me)...so would you ding it 1 or 2 grades (I presume the rest of the 4 grade difference from 70 are non-margin factors) ?

Hmmm, don't know about the grade factor. I guess it's my OCD that I like the even margin look to my bill. Lol

Ugh so busy this week, can't remember the last note I posted... well I can but it's been a while, I will never catch up at this rate. Well, today's new pickup is this 1902 $10 from Miamisburg, Ohio. You know, someone managed to put a long tear in this, and then to make matters worse, use crappy tape on it. Why, why, why...? Still, these are tougher notes to get and I got this at a good value so check off Miamisburg and charter 3876 off the list...

Well, a while back I bought this 1928 note. E71CCEEE-B1A2-4D8D-B928-4E2811FBA8DF.jpeg 4CD2444C-51D7-454A-A718-F682A92D9041.jpeg Then I got this to complement it. Not a bad first large size note I’d say! As a side note, Heritage takes better pictures than me, so I’ll use their images. 1816CF73-F776-460C-9ACA-60A2DF37ABD2.jpeg C7E15CD3-5135-4F14-A5EA-F9B1867778A6.jpeg

  15. Cool pairing @Milesofwho.

The last large-size SC Ace and the first small-size SC Ace, well done.

Nice pick up, as far as trying to be XF, i think your falling a little short there.
Would say VF-30 on its best day !

These came from Denly’s Of Boston table at the Bay State Show. They’re both very old, damaged and rare. I’ve been searching for some time for notes from Smithfield, Rhode Island. So when I saw them, it was time to pay up. I thought the 7 dollar denomination was especially cool. 1FB4295C-B634-40E9-8152-673CF6EDC1F5.jpeg 868DF60B-8949-4A59-97A2-D2A693B92495.jpeg Signed by Peleg Arnold
