Steve - Love the Tampa Note - I'll be on the hunt for a $5 version soon!! Here's my latest addition to the $5 note collection:
WOW....one of, if not the nicest 03A $5 Star I've seen in a while Doug. Saltysam, your Louisiana Obsoletes have wonderful engravings, and congratulations to everybody contributing to this thread. I'm not sure why, but the BEP normally doesn't release modern notes ending in "9999" or "0000". These serial numbered notes are usually pulled and replaced by Star notes.....somehow this pair escaped.
Costa Rica. I don't believe this note was issued. Netherlands Indies five gulden note, 1939 Yugoslavia 20 dinara
Dollar bill shirt. I suspect it's got some age on it because some of the threads for the buttons fell away when i removed it from the picture frame. The light balance is off. I'll take some better pictures with my recently found camera. Last week I bought a 1960s or 70's dollar bill necktie made from ten one dollar bills.
Thanks. I'll post images of the dollar bill necktie later. It's a full size front necktie so it'll be a different photography technique from a coin. I decided to collect things made from money. Also got an ashtray made from foreign coins.
I guess it's either feast or famine when it comes to my new acquisitions lately. I was able to pick up this series 1985 Dallas star today. From a run of 640,000 printed in June 1987. Looks to me to be Fine+-VF. Tell me if you agree:
I also picked up another Obsolete Citizens Bank Note from Louisiana. This one is a $50 from their Shreveport Branch.
Here's the $1 of the Citizens Bank of Louisiana. I like the repetative denomination along both edges and behind the number 1's on center face.
Great notes everybody. I love SemperFi's $5 34C, Matt's error note, and Salty's Louisana's obsoletes. This 2009 Chicago Star might end up being the series key note....it's really hard to find. Glad I was able to find one with GEM centering.
