I received a few silver certificates today for face value and I thought i'd share them. 2 1935 g no motto and a 1957b
nice note! Both being by the ABNC, I would not be surprised if they recycled the idea from one to the other. In fact, in at least one case the exact same design was used on two notes from two different countries: a miner with a jackhammer sort of thing is seen in the Chihuahua 5 Pesos note, and is also seen on a Peru note of a denomination I dont remember off the top of my head.
I've just gotten the largest banknote I have EVER seen. Please let me know if there are any larger. 1910 Russia 100 Roubles
Mexico has always had some GREAT looking notes The stamp appears to be revaluing the note from 5 pesos to 0.5 centavos. That's a reduction of 10000%!!!
This one is wrecked. I'm thinking I should have just paid more for a better condition one. Czechoslovakia 100 korun
The stamp on back is a revenue stamp for a half centavo. Notes from private banks were taxed. The stamp verifies the tax was paid. It is not evidence of devaluing the note.
Thanks. I was wondering what the heck was going on with that. I didn't know private banks were taxed. Interesting!
