Another late night, another late post, another new pickup... Large, eagle motif? Check and double check, and the rarer Lyons-Treat sigs...
Awesome notes Mec and Tiger! Here's some new notes for face value + shipping. I have no idea why the site decided to rotate the photo.
tigertrader; I think it is amazing that you can find so many notes with just one specific serial number. An extremely low one and most at higher grades besides.
Thanks salty! I currently (emphasis) have 3 small size $1 Silver Certs. The 1935 posted above and these 2:
Dunk, here is the reverse - alas, it isn't one of the better reverse designs in my opinion, too bad as the front is spectacular. I'd guess it grades high VF. I am getting worked to death, but hopefully in the end that means a pile of money for money. Today's new money, a new Canal Bank obsolete, with a delicate colored reverse. I am trying to collect them all... like Hot Wheels (tm)...
Thanks MEC. Awesome Note!!! I should be hearing from PCGS Currency any day now on the grades for my 2 sets of Black Eagle consecutives.
Got these three for what I think is a great price. 1928-C $10 FRN Chicago - Very Fine 1928-B $1 SC - Gem Uncirculated Fractional 1st Issue 5¢ - Almost Uncirculated The three combined cost me $100.
That's definitely a nice score Funkee... Chicago is common (bah, I have three) but the C is always a good score, in any condition, and at that price... and a nice example of a fractional to boot. Work has kept me from tending this thread properly, so pardon my neglect. Todays new pickup is a definitely hard to come by note - a 1934 B $10 Star. The 1934-B are rare customers so you get what you can take, including this well worn world traveler. It's not like I had a couple VF's sitting there and said "nah, gimme that broke ass one instead". The 1934-B are definitely catch as catch can, and while a candidate for upgrade, this fills one of many empty 1934-B holes (EDIT: he he, I said b holes...), so I will take it...
Not a new acquisition, but instead a set of newly graded consecutive Notes that I had purchased "raw". Fr. 235 graded 58PPQ with the Mule designation. Fr. 233 graded 50 with one being "Apparent" due to a small tear at the top center of the Note.
I don't think anyone can modify someone else's post. You probably need to go into your post and then hit edit, delete the pictures, then go into the picture file in your computer, turn and then re-post them. Perhaps another CT member could copy them to their file and do the same, but then they will be in his post, not yours. I see from your above revised comment you were able to do it. :>)
There are 2 special things about this new note. The first one is rather obvious. Can anyone figure out what the 2nd one is?
Nice pickup Funkee! Did they know it was a FW 295 micro error? That was an easy one. I have a run of 4 consective 1995 FW notes with one 295 back plate, all in GEM. Here is an explanation of the error for those interested: Link Oh, and here is my new pickup: I paid very little over face and I think it will go 66PPQ...
Work is trying to kill me, and it may yet succeed. Who wants my notes when it does? It isn't like my wife will want them... she will sell them all to maintain the lifestyle to which she has become accustomed. What duchess wants, duchess gets... Today duchess can watch me scan this 20 pound note from Scotland - it's a big'un, as wide as a US large size but notably taller by 3/4 of an inch. Nice red ink, great engraving and I love the coat of arms, that really draws me in. Picture of the Forth Bridge on the back - what is it with bridges on these notes? Oh well, I'm just happy to pick up a cool colored newpie...
Yes. That's the 2nd special thing about the note, and is why I picked it up. Out of curiosity, what would you value it at? I'd say it's AU+ to CU condition.
That is a tough question. I have seen them go for as low as a few dollars and all the way up to $50. I have no idea what the autograph would add value wise but the combination of the autograph and the error could put you towards the higher end of that vast range....
