From the responses I received a long while ago, this is an authentic coin. What's neat is that on the back of the envelope, there's an impression with what I can make out to be part of the word "COLUMBIAN" going around in a circle. It must have been a huge medal or such with a high enough relief to cause that size impression to appear.
