The gold made out okay, but the chemicals in the box went after the half dollar, leaving it with ugly toning. </p><p><br /></p><p>I once saw a certified set. The gold was graded Choice to gem Mint State (the gold dollar was NGC graded MS-66), but the half dollar was &quot;details&quot; graded because it had been polished to remove the toning.
