    These types are usually priced out of my range but this was worn enough and off the flan to be affordable. For those who study the history of the Greco-Roman mystery schools and how their symbolism relates to other global nature religions as well as the big world religions this type has a rich array of images.

    Pamphylia. Side AR Stater / Athena
    Attribution: Cf. SNG BN 641/639 (similar, but our Apollo is wearing tunic and holding a staff)
    Date: Circa 370-360 BC
    Obverse: Athena standing left holding Nike in right hand and resting left hand on shield; pomegranate in left field
    Reverse: Apollo (Hermes?) standing left in tunic and cape, holding patera and staff and sacrificing over altar before him
    Size: 22.08 mm
    Weight: 9.25 grams
    Description: VF. Struck from somewhat degraded and rusty dies

Obv:Athena standing left, holding Nike, shield, and spear; pomegranate to left, Rev: Apollo standing left, quiver over shoulder, holding patera and laurel scepter; a lighted altar on left, with a Pamphylian letter above, a raven stands to left at his feet. SNG von Aulock 4771; Atlan 112.
