Still neat to get info on it. A sweet coin BTW. Congrats to the both of you for quitting smoking. I haven't smoked in 5-6 years (though I vape :/ ).
Nice! I haven't gotten any hits beyond two coins they found earlier provenances for when I first submitted four or five during their introductory offer. I'd be surprised if the old CNG sales were recent additions to their catalogue archive; my understanding is that their software over time improves on its ability to match coins, and that the existing database of old submissions gets periodically run through the software. Other than a list of their catalogue archive, I wish it were known which auction companies they currently service in terms of finding old provenances for coins that are being offered for sale. I know that Künker uses them (sometimes you'll see auction lots in their online catalogs with links to provenances found by Ex-Nvmis) and so I certainly wouldn't submit to Ex-Nvmis any coin won in a recent Künker auction.
That's a good point, though as TIF's experience suggests and as you pointed-out earlier in your post, a coin may get hits in the future as the software and databae improves. Thus, a coin sold today by Künker with no provenance after an Ex Nvmis search may get a hit after a year or two.
@TIF that's cool getting that out of the blue after so long, good news! That's a great coin, and that is probably the best diorama ...ever. @dadams Wow! That's ever better news! I smoked for almost 20 years, took my last drag January 2012, about the same time I started coin collecting! Keep it up man! Sink that cigarette budget into some sweet coins This recent coin I got (with shipping) cost me that same amount of money as two packs of smokes! Macedonian Kingdom.
