Ever wish you had @Jack D. Young on speed dial? Just got my most recent submission back. I had a counterfeit 1804 spiked chin half cent. Ah well…. Lesson learned!

Not really. That was an odd purchase for me. Most all my better coins are already slabbed. I had been working my way down to some of the lower value coins. This was one of them. It was an impulse purchase for me…. As many are…. But it was outside my wheelhouse. I don’t have any worries about the rest of my collection really.

Well…. I talked a good buddy out of that piece years ago. So we both got fooled.

I know ICG will slab counterfeits in a special holder ('educational slab') but it seems like you might need to request that on the form?

Says questionable, did you have any doubts before sending in and can you see what is questionable now?

Edge is not current Chinese; reverse appears messed with. Questionable, unverifiable, etc are terms used by the TPGs to state they really can't tell...

@Randy Abercrombie is the weight within tolerance?

 

I am remiss... I been a lifelong coin collector and do not have a scale. I will rectify that and report back.
