I missed this thread. I have tried to dig out some coins from my collection that I don't recall having shared here before.

    Alexandria

    Septimius Severus denarius
Obv:–IMP CAE L SEP SEV PERT AVG, Laureate head right
Rev:– BONI EVENTVS, Fides standing right holding basket of fruit and corn ears
    Minted in Alexandria. A.D. 194
Ref:– BMCRE -. RIC -. RSC -. (Not listed with Fides right)

    2.72g. 17.10mm. 0o

Possibly the only known example but a reverse die match with a Julia Domna in Vienna.

ex - Barry Murphy collection (sold in 2003).

    A rare dated type.

Last T in RESTITVTOR re-engraved from an O.

A common type for Rome but apparently much harder to find from the oriental mint

    Great coins!

I still do not have one blessed coin from this tyrant. Caracalla inherited a lot of his Dad's bad genes. He ranks as one of the ten worst Emperors. However, I still want to get some of his aurei/ denari.:)
