Most of the State Quarters tone to shades of yellow, yellowish brown, brown and even to a light reddish copper with time and when exposed to the enviroment. I believe that the composition of the Cladding is somewhat different on these quarters than quarters produced through the 70&#039;s, 80&#039;s and through 1998 as the earlier quarters have not shown the amount and different variations of toning as the State Quarters.
