I have no idea why I bought this coin other than the price was right and the hand of God is visible and detailed. With shipping this little coin cost $8.39, so I guess that's why I bought it. I now own three of the "Hand of God" coins with two being from Antioch. Constantine I AE4 OBV: DV CONSTANTI-NVS PT AVGG, Veiled bust draped & cuirassed right REV: Constantine driving quadriga right, hand of God reaching down to him, (no star in field), Mintmark: SMANS Struck at Antioch, 337-340 AD 1.6g, 15mm RIC VIII 39 Obviously, I'm still having issues with the background color
After seeing so many people post extraordinary coins on various forums it is nice to see some of the basic bread and butter ancients that are attainable by common folk like me. An excellent coin at an excellent price!
Playing around with that software...I wanted to show you my fav Bing Coin...granted the sizing is lop sided but the coin is Phat beyond words....
Thrifty & awesome new pick-up ... funny/cool how that "AE" coin looks kinda like an "AR" coin, eh? => well played, ya ol' Silver Fox ... well played!!
Thanks Jerry, but the color is completely different than the image. I was trying to get a black background like Anoob did, but instead, I now have an AE coin looking like a AR coin. My bad.
Great looking coin jw, it looks like you have the left hand of God..i'm not sure there's a right or left hand coin. but mine looks like a right hand..This coin came from the help of my good friend jw... Constantine l 337- 340..AD.. Ob. veiled, draped bust right. Rev. Divo Constantine l quadriga right Hand of God above..looks like the right hand Mint .SMAN..Antioch
