I went back through the papers and found that my father received the GCM twice: 30 Sept 1960 and 4 Oct 1963. However, he entered (drafted) on 11 Jan 1955. No GCM... He was in Inchon, Korea, 8 Nov 1955 to 24 Feb 1957. It was in that period that he was shot while patrolling the DMZ and also involved in an NJP.&nbsp; Whatever happened with the NJP, his next billet was to be a driver for a colonel. At that point, the clock started over for the eventual (first of two) GCM. He was in Germany 26 May 1958 to 5 Feb 1961. My half-brother sent me some records that he had because he thought that I would be interested as I was serving in the Texas State Guard (retirement this Sunday). Working then with ARNG, I followed up on that. The records that I have from my father&#039;s service are from the St. Louis archives. They were damaged by water as were millions of others.
