Good luck with this & let us know if/when you receive the correct coin. Please post the original link to the sale that you won & should have received.

Even if you don't like toning, you can clearly see the first one is in much better condition than the second.

Another update. The seller indicated to me that the other buyer is going to return my coin! There really are good, honest people left in the world. :D Hopefully I will have it in another week or two. Ill be sure to post pictures once I get it. <3

This is very fortunate. Sometimes a buyer who receives the wrong coin, if it is worth more than the one actually purchased, will make up all kind of excuses instead of returning the coin. Please keep us posted.

Good to hear. Sometimes sellers even ask the people to send it to the correct address for them while reimbursing them the cost for s/h.

That is great news! I am glad this is working out for you. I was also thinking that your avatar probably shows the expression on your face when you got the wrong coin.

Update, since people asked for it.

I didn't get, and won't be getting, the coin. When the seller told me the other buyer was going to return my coin, they decided not to inform me (until I sent another message asking where my coin was) that the other buyer's conditions were "you send me my coin first, and THEN I'll return the other one." The seller of course wasn't going to do that, because them's thiefin' words there. So much for honesty, huh? I just found out about this yesterday, and the seller refunded me today after I asked how much longer they were going to wait on the other buyer.

I'm still sore over this. Now I've had my excitement over this coin dashed TWICE. I haven't left feedback yet, I don't like leaving neutrals or negs (in fact, I've only ever left positive feedback) and they left me a positive feedback but in this case I feel like it's warranted - they mixed up my order with someone else's and weren't able to get me my item, that's a pretty bad mistake and they need to be more careful in the future. >:|

What a bunch of crock this was. Does anybody know if it's possible to block sellers so you don't see their listings? I don't want to accidentally buy something else from someone who couldn't keep my order straight.

As with all human beings, mistakes happen. I would not chastise a seller for mixing up your order. You were refunded, so nothing lost, nothing gained. I know this came as a misfortune to you, and sorry for that.

Unfortunately sellers with huge sales volumes can sometimes mix up orders. It's not a perfect world.

But, be thankful we live in an age of electronic payment methods. If it was not for paypal, you may have never been refunded at all.

I also would not lay blame on the seller for them not being able to get your item, the buyer was not going to relinquish the coin, they can't really force them to return it.

I don't really understand that. You cannot evade chance, that's like saying "I don't want to accidentally walk outside and step in bubble gum."

Right. But I wouldn't quit shopping with this seller if they made a mistake like that. It's a mistake. It will probably never happen again.

As I previously said, sorry for your misfortune. I would sell the morgan you got for melt, and shop for another nice toner.

  13. Well said peter as i am one that has had that happen to me.
I open the package and didnt know the dealer had sent me an email asking me not to open the package it was the wrong coin and he would pay for the shipping back to him.
I had ordered an 1878 trade dollar but got a graded silver dollar in slab.
I was upset but waitted and then ask the seller if i could buy that coin as well.
He told me the coin was sold and to return it and he would ship my coin out as soon as it was in the mail.
I got my coin 2 days latter.
Both i and the seller made a mistake but i got the coin i ordered.

With so many sellers on ebay I would say your chances of purchasing something from him again are slim. But I do wish there is a way to block sellers and the only way to evade a seller is to be careful. Maybe you can put the username next to your keyboard?

As far as feedbacks go, I don't think a negative is warranted. He did refund the money, at the most maybe a low star rating for his mix up.

I guess so. I usually check sellers before buying something anyway, so it shouldn't be a problem.

And no, I wouldn't leave a negative. I was thinking neutral, though at this point I'm not leaving any feedback. Going to wait until I'm not so bitter before leaving feedback so it'll be less angry-sounding. :s
