    1. I love toning - if it looks like your avatar. NOT if it looks like the bid coin in question.
    2. Full head ? NO. Gotta have full rivets. This one doesn't.
    3. Cross to PCGS ? Word on the street is PCGS is very tough these days.

To me, these coin is a PASS.

I like the looks of the coin, and for purposes of full disclosure, will be bidding on it, though not nearly to the level that a number of you have mentioned..

If you will only be happy with it in a PCGS holder, you'll probably be better off waiting for one in a PCGS holder. Many coins which owners (rightly or wrongly) believe deserve to cross, do not cross. It's usually not worth the money and/or, effort and/or aggravation to mess with trying to cross coins.

Thats probably a good bet Goldstone, but I would further limit myself at least $150.00 below that. B.O.L.

Well thats always a possible downside, but I'd rather get worthy opinions before presenting a bid. There are still people around who will respect your trust, and offer the same as Lehigh did.

Did you notice that the seller has the PCGS Price Guide price included in his listing of an NGC coin?:(

There might be a problem with the Designation "FH" should the buyer be looking at a cross over.

I do like the coin. It has great eye appeal, IMO. I would not buy it for a type set as the strike is soft on the shield, but it still is a nice toned example of a SLQ. What I like about the tone is the color, not the pattern. That is why I think it won't go for a huge premium, how ever LeHigh does know his tone coins and the ever more important the market on these coins.
I would leave it in the NGC slab, I don't understand why you would want to change it out. Can your hatered be that strong for NGC?

I suspect the grade is much more at risk than the strike designation. In my experience, NGC is just as strict or stricter on these designations than PCGS. Grading is another story entirely....Mike (who will not be bidding on this coin)

A very interesting perspective. Why do you say a FH coin has to have full rivets? Is this your own personal scale, or are you contending that FH coins need have full rivets to grade as such by TPGs? Just wondering...Mike (who would wager that better than 90% of FH coins DO NOT have full rivets)

One has absolutely nothing to do with the other, with respect to the FH designation.

That was kind of my point, Mark. ;)

Tell me, what % of FH coins do you think have full rivets?

Mike, I know it was, but I felt that you weren't being blunt enough:D In answer to your question - I don't know, but would guess it to be less than 10%.

is this why so few Std Lib coins grade higher than MS-66?

I must be mellowing out in my old age. That's the first time I can recall ever being referred to as not blunt enough. ;) :)

    I don't think so. I don't recall a large % of the 67's having full rivets.

HAhah nope I just like looking at coins better in a PCGS holder, if it would cross consistently it would be a no brainer could send it in with my dealers next bigger order, if it wouldn't cross I wouldn't dare attempt it and loose the grade

Has nothing with liking or disliking NGC. It has everything to do with FMV's of the TPG"S. I personally don't believe the coin will standup to a PCGS crossover. IMHO

The head and the rivets are completely different things and that is one of the big problems with the FH designation. I'd rather have full rivets and a well struck Eagle on the reverse.
