    To me, the winners are coins minted for circulation. Proofs can be beautiful, sure, but they're not minted to be spent, only to be looked at.

    Proofs are pretty but they were made for collectors and were collected and preserved. I find coins made for circulation yet survived (in whatever state) more interesting. Specimen coins to me are in a different category.
