I think it's always nice to have a backup. That's my story for accidentally buying two of something and I'm sticking to it.

 

The new one is a later die state. (Good an excuse as any for keeping it.)

Don’t feel bad @okbustchaser ….. I am the master of buying duplicates and a few triplicates….. I wanted an 1853 A&R half so bad I bought two within a month of each other… The second half looked so much nicer than the first….. Two months after that, I found a third in my desk drawer at work that I have no memory whatsoever of acquiring. Every day is like Christmas anymore.

 

I can relate to "finding" coins I forgot I bought years ago.
