An absolutely beautiful site to behold. So very serious class 4 and 5 rapids run under this bridge. I have gone on may rafting and fishing trips down this river. What made this bridge so special is that up until 2003, it was considered the longest arch bridge in the world. There were big signs at each end of the bridge notifying motorists of this title. But in 2003, the Chinese open the Shanghai Lu Pu bridge which took that honor. The signs have been changed to now say, the longest arch bridge in the western hemisphere. If you ever get a chance to visit that area of WV, you must take a look. It is quite breath taking. Thanks for everyone who did and didn't participate. Hope you all learned something today.
