But what about NGC and PCGS, do you trust your opinion over that of the graders who work at those companies ? Let me be clear here Kurt, when it comes to grading, I have no problem with you trusting your opinion over that of anyone else. But your comment above, coupled with your previous comment along the same lines - well, to me, it seems to imply that you are judging the ability of individual graders based upon the company where they happen to work. Do you really not see a problem with that line of thinking ? And if you don't then just imagine this scenario. Let's say there is a grader who was involved with the TPGs from day one. And I'm going back to the days when all there was was ANACS and they issued paper certificates. We're talking the 1970's. Even back then this particular grader was highly regarded in his abilities in both the market place and among his peers. And as the years passed and the industry changed the grading abilities of this particular person became even better and he was thought to be among the very best. And he didn't just work for one TPG during his career, he worked at most or maybe even all of them. But let's say he's working for NGC or PCGS. And as long as he worked there, based on your line of thinking, you have at least a certain degree of trust in his grading abilities. Would that be an accurate statement ? Based on what you've said I have to think it is. So OK, I have no problem with that. But what would happen if, for whatever reason, this highly respected grader decided to make a change and work for a different company. And based on your comments it doesn't matter which one because you distrust all of them. But at that point, and again based on your comments, simply because he doesn't work for NGC or PCGS you have absolutely no confidence in his ability to grade coins. Now I ask you, does that make any sense ? Do you see what I'm getting at Kurt ? For decades this grader has long been considered to be among the best there are. But suddenly he's no good any more simply because he changed the company he worked for ? What I'm saying here Kurt is that the company you work for doesn't change the individual or lessen his ability to grade coins in any way. So we can't ever denigrate individuals or their abilities just because they happen to work here instead of there. However, that is a completely different thing than saying this TPG is better than that TPG when it comes to grading. But when one says that we also have to always remember that the reason - stress that, the reason - one TPG is better than another TPG is because each one has different grading standards that their employees are forced to follow when they grade coins. So, we can say that this TPG is better than that TPG all day long ! But we can't ever say that this particular grader or that particular grader doesn't know what he is doing simply because of where he happens to work at the time.
