This thing in hand is just unreal. It has tons of luster and is glazed in a light and even golden tone. The coin simply glows. So proud to have owned this one. I just had to share it.
No. This was the last year of issue, so the '38-D coins got saved in large quantities and there are consequently very many Mint State survivors today. Population 1,746 in MS67, 20 in MS68 at PCGS. Look at the pops for MS66! PCGS alone has graded over 30K of them! But it's still a beautiful Buffalo nickel. And MS67 ain't nothin' to sneeze at.
Really nice coin. They just had a 1917 PCGS MS66+ (and cac) at the local shop. It was beauty but outside my xmas spending range. The clash was so strong on it the indian had a beard. It was a beauty. They had a bunch of high grade buffalo nickels that were beauts.
