I had my first day off since April 30th today/ we had over 30 mm of rain Here is number one.... Up till recently only one example was known from this ruler. Twenty coins where discovered in Iran/ now everyone can afford it John
All 20, or should I say, 19 of us can get ours Though, a wonderful coin and reminder that you never know when a big hoard of a rare type can be unearthed and come to light and lower the intrinsic value. Hats off P- man!
Even with the worlds most highly priced coin the US AV 1933 Double Eagle/ Roosevelt ordered all 1933 $20 Dollar pieces to be melted down/ save for two destined for the Smithsonian. The Farouk specimen recently went for 18 Million $. Now, there are 2+1+10+????? in safety deposit boxes. But in reality the 2 most pricey coins are the fabled AV 1000/ 500 Mohurs struck by Mughal Emperor Jahangir in 1605. Both went to auction back in 1987/ and top bid was 10 M/ below reserve. Both coins belonged to the Nizam of Hyderabad. They weigh in at 35 pounds/ 17.5 pounds!!!! If they go up for auction in future/ I am sure the "Tyrant" will add them to his supberb coll.
Actually, I ended up baking 96 Cinnamon Buns/ German Plum cake Yesterday, I ended up working all day in the rain We had more rain in past two days then in past 4 months. Waiting for Roma event.... John
