How could I forget this one. I have to take better shots of this guy. 1865 $2 NBN Original Series, Paxton, Il
You will be surprised at how difficult some of the NY notes are to locate! If you are not familiar with my collection, there is a link on the bottom of my sig. I am collecting a wide variety of NY notes and american Bank Note Products as well as some Obsoletes and Fractionals....It is my goal to put together every Small size NY note from 1928 to present in nothing less than AU...have to bend that some when it comes to the stars!!LOL The Large Size and Nationals are just icing on the cake!! I must say that I appreciate the work and the investment you have put into what I have seen of your collection...Thanks for sahring it wit us!! Regards, RickieB
Thanks, Rickie. I'm glad you like them. I've looked at your collection a bit. It's so vast I need a lot more free time to really appreciate it. No matter how much reading and looking I do, I'm always afraid that I have or will make dumb and stupid decisions re. notes. There are 5 other Large sized $2 that I'd like to get eventually to complete the type set. '69 $2 USN Bracelet Reverse '86 $2SC - Hancock '91 $2SC - Windom '90 $2 Coin Note '91 $@ Coin note Of course who wouldn't also want a chief or a Bison or Porthole, but like you I try not to collect in less than AU, so the more popular guys are getting very pricey. I'll put up some of the small size $2s later. N.
yes there is definitely so beautiful history to look at. i too was also drooling a bit. that 1914 Chicago frn is amazing. i have actually ended up starting a nice little chi-town collection myself. in am not quite in the big leagues league yet. :thumb:
You have a quite a nice collection started there Urbanchemist....and you're finding interesting notes out of circulation. You shouldn't discount the sheer animal pleasure of hunting and finding an elusive note in the wild.
