I was the first to get at it, as soon as the doors opened. It was pretty well picked over by the end of the day. This last one is Pantikapion, bow and arrow type. I think someone must have thought the coin was suffering from BD, as it has some slight fissures with light green deposits it them. However, I've picked away at them with a needle and they don't budge. I'm not completely convinced yet, though. I'm going to examine the coin thoroughly tomorrow. If it is BD, it looks like it should be an easy cure...
Wow!! => hey obviously you did pretty well at the Baltimore show, eh? (good for both, you and Doug ... some great coins) Ummm, curious? => that "Ptolemaic bronze" that you posted ... that's a PT-4 Philopator? thanks keep 'em coming (or is that it?) I like you
oww, sorry JA ... yah, I'm tired too ... I've had a long day of laying in bed with my sweetie watching vids and snuggling (gawd I'm getting tired again ... I better go rest) Hey, where is that coin I ordered!! (worst service ever!!) ... just jokes (thanks for that too) I'd say "cheers" ... but well, whatev => Eat a bun!! (is that a saying?)
No, we went different days. I didn't see any point in taking photos. It's a lot old men looking at a lot of old coins, same as every show.
I keep telling myself I should take some photos for posterity but I never do. There were many people there that were not old men. There must have been 5% women and children. I rode the bus up with a man and his daughter. She had decided that learning about coins was in her best interest since dad has thousands that will be hers someday. I wish my family had that attitude.
JA is posting pictures of his junk on the internet again!? oh, ok....that type of junk. seriously, what a GREAT junk bin haul JA...the hits just kept on coming there. that ptolemy is great...sweet byzantines, nice AS...man, fantastic score.
